For a beautiful light show projected on the side of the San Fernando Cathedral, the oldest cathedral in the United States, go to 'San Antonio: The Saga'. You can enjoy the spectacle four times per week for almost 30 minutes. And the projection looks stunning!

2. Visit a Japanese Garden

A beautiful garden in San Antonio is the Japanese Tea Garden located in Brackenridge Park. It is a garden decorated in Japanese style which looks really beautiful. For example, the gate to the garden is based on a Japanese Torii gate.

3. Go to a free museum

One of the best museums in San Antonio is the Witte Museum. Here you'll find a great collection of all kinds of historic artifacts and photographs, drawings, and much more! As a result it tells the story of Texas through time, which is really great. Also, there is no admission fee!

4. Visit the Alamo

The Alamo is an important historical site. Here you'll find a former fortress and Spanish mission, which makes it a very interesting place to visit. Thus, it is certainly worth a visit while you are in San Antonio and it is one of the best free things to do in San Antonio!

5. Stroll through botanical gardens

If you are looking for a great place with many beautiful plants, then go to the San Antonio Botanical Garden. Here you find a diverse range of plans including native Texas ones. In short, it is really a great place for a relaxing stroll.

6. Watch a movie for free

Seeing a movie is always a good idea, and especially when it can be done for free. Well, you should head to Slab Cinema because here you can do exactly that. During the summer months, many movies are shown to the public. For the schedule and more information, visit their website!

7. Visit a museum

Another great museum in San Antonio is the San Antonio Museum of Art. The collection of the museum comprises fine art from all times and all parts of the world. Although the museum is not always free, there are some free admission days. For more information on the museum, check out their website!
