By Dymphe / February 4, 2021

In this article, you can read all about the best things to do in Barcelona! With these tips, you will have a great time in this Spanish city.

Table of Contents

  • 1. Go to the Sagrada Familia
  • 2. See Casa Milà
  • 3. Hike to Hill Tibidabo and get a view
  • 4. Stroll over La Rambla
  • 5. Relax at the beach
  • 6. Walk at Park Güell
  • 7. Go to Camp Nou
  • 8. See (local) goods at La Boqueria

1. Go to the Sagrada Familia

The Sagrada Familia is one of the most recognizable sights in Barcelona! It is a beautiful church right in the middle of Barcelona. Because of that, it is one of the most photogenic places in Barcelona. And it is one of the landmarks of the city that make Madrid one of the best cities in Spain.

Also, the history of the church is really interesting, as Antoni Gaudi worked on it. Nowadays, the people still work on developing the Basilica and the expectation is that it's ready in 2026.

2. See Casa Milà

Another beautiful piece of architecture by Antoni Gaudi is Casa Milà. Here you can see a very unique building that is just amazing to see and enter! For more information, check out this page of the building.

3. Hike to Hill Tibidabo and get a view

If you want to get the best view over the city, then you should really go to Hill Tibidabo! Going here is free, making this one of the best free things to do in Barcelona too!

Here you can get an amazing view, but you will have to walk a bit to get to here. The hill offers an impressive view of the city and the coastline!

Also, there is a beautiful church that is located on top of the hill that will make this place even better!

4. Stroll over La Rambla

La Rambla is a street in the centre of the city that is lovely to stroll through. It is the perfect place to see the bustle of the city, as it can quite busy here!

5. Relax at the beach

There are many beaches in Barcelona that are really great to visit! Furthermore, the beaches are not far from the centre. In fact, you can easily walk there as the city is located next to the sea! One of the best beaches that I would recommend is Nova Icaria Beach, which is a bit more quiet than the other beaches.

6. Walk at Park Güell

In Barcelona you can find many parks to relax in. One of the best ones is Park Güell. There is beautiful nature which is really great to see while walking in the park. Also, there are many artworks that integrate beautifully with nature, which further enhance your experience at the park!

7. Go to Camp Nou

Camp Nou, the home stadium of FC Barcelona, can easily be reached from the city. At Camp Nou you can attend a soccer match, which is a great experience. Also, when there is no match, or when you don't want to see a match, you can do a tour of the stadium itself during which you can go everywhere and see everything. At this page, you can get more information!

8. See (local) goods at La Boqueria

At La Boqueria you'll find a very old public market selling all kinds of goods. In fact, the market has been there for a couple of hundreds of years. The first mention of the market was already in 1217, which is truly impressive! To get a sense of history and local life, you should really go to this place!
