The Greek cuisine is truly amazing and Athens is the place to be if you want to have the best Greek dishes.
There are many amazing restaurants in Athens where you can have dinner.
I'd especially recommend going to Plaka or Monastiráki if you're looking for a restaurant! Here are many restaurants and you can check out the menus while walking by.
8. Go to Lycabettus Hill
For a panoramic view of this wonderful city, you can go to Lycabettus Hill! This is one of the best free activities you can do in Athens.
It's one of the best things to do in Athens if you love to climb a bit.
However, if you don't want to climb then you can go here too! Since there's also a cable car, you can just sit, relax and wait till you get to the magnificent view.
Furthermore, there are also some cute cafes on the hill where you can have something to eat and drink.
9. Go to the beach
Most people won't think about the beach when they think about Athens. However, there are beaches and these are amazing if you want to have a beach day!
I'd definitely recommend going to one of the beaches in Athens because you can go for a swim there and cool down a bit. Especially during the summer months, this is a great thing to do.
10. Do a day trip to Hydra
Greek islands are amazing and you can go to one of these magnificent islands during your stay in Athens!
Hydra is only 1,5 hours by boat and it's just an amazing place to be.

The Panathenaic Stadium is located in the heart of Athens and it's the place where the first modern Olympics took place back in 1896.
