Also, you can reach Dallas by airplane. That's because there is an international airport in the city. You can get to Dallas from within the US, as well as from outside of the country!
Furthermore, there are various bus companies offering routes to Dallas. One of these companies is Greyhound.
Where To Stay During One Week in Dallas
When you are spending one week in Dallas, I recommend staying in Downtown Dallas.
That's because you find most of the city's sights there. Also, because there are a lot of stores and restaurants here. So it is a convenient place to stay when you are 7 days in Dallas!
One Week in Dallas Itinerary
Let's start with this itinerary for 7 days in Dallas!
Day 1: Seeing Many Sights
On the first day, you'll go to Downtown Dallas, and you'll see some other great sights in the surrounding area.
Discover the Dallas Downtown Historic District
Let's start this week by going to Downtown Dallas. This is one of the best ways to discover what the city has to offer.
That's because you find a large share of the city's activity here!
There are many places where you can go shopping and there are many restaurants. This makes it a place you will come back later during this one week in Dallas for sure!
Also, there are great parks in this part of the city and you find here many museums. You will definitely see these sights if you follow this itinerary for 7 days in Dallas!
Wandering around here is a lovely activity, which is why I recommend you do that when you are one week in the city!
Go to Pioneer Plaza
Now that you discovered Downtown Dallas, it is time to go to a specific place in that area of the city.
A great place in the city is Pioneer Plaza. And you have to see this place when you are 7 days in Dallas!
This is a public park that is a very popular place in the city.
In the park, you find a large sculpture that is great to see. This sculpture features cattle drives that played a role in the history of Texas. In total, there are almost 50 bronze steers and there are sculptures of the riders of the trails
See the City from Above at Reunion Tower
After seeing Pioneer Plaza, I recommend going to the Reunion Tower. This is great to visit during your one week in Dallas!
This is a large observation tower that you can find in Downtown Dallas as well.
From the top of the tower, you have a wonderful view of the city of Dallas. This is great to do during your first day, as it allows you to see the places that you'll visit later this week!
In total, the tower is 561 feet (or 171 meters) tall. So that's very impressive.
Go to the John F. Kennedy Memorial
After spending time at the Reunion Tower, I recommend going to the John F. Kennedy Memorial.
This is a monument for President John F. Kennedy.
The memorial lies close to the place where the assassination of John F. Kennedy took place.
You'll visit the place where it happened next. This is a must when you are one week in Dallas.
Visit the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza
After seeing the John F. Kennedy Memorial, you should definitely end your day by going to this museum.
You can find the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza in Downtown Dallas too.
You find it in the Dallas County Administration Building that overlooks Dealey Plaza.
The museum is at the place from where Lee Harvey Oswald killed John F. Kennedy.

You find here a lot of beautiful trees and plants. So it's great for those who love nature.
Furthermore, you can go here for a relaxing stroll, because there are many walking paths.
Furthermore, you find benches at the park that make this place great for relaxation!
Also, there is a play fountain that is great to visit when you are going to Dallas with kids.
Keep in mind that you can only visit the park between 6AM and 11PM. But this shouldn't be a problem unless you wake up very early!
See the Dallas Museum of Art
Another one of the sights you have to see when you are one week in Dallas is the Dallas Museum of Art.
This is a large museum that you can find in Downtown Dallas. When looking at exhibition space, this is one of the largest art museums in the country.
The collection of the museum comprises a lot of objects from a period that spans about 3000 years. Moreover, there are art objects from all over the world.
This makes the collection of the museum very diverse, which makes the museum a very fun place to visit!
See a Concert of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra
To end your second day of this 7 days in Dallas itinerary, I recommend going to a concert.
To be more specific, I recommend going to a concert of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. This is an orchestra that performs at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center.

At the museum, you find a permanent collection spread over three main galleries.
The first gallery is all about Japanese art. The second gallery features Chinese objects. And the third gallery is about objects from India and Southeast Asia.
Walk Through Trammell Crow Park
Now, I recommend going to Trammell Crow Park. This is a beautiful and large park that you find surrounding the Trinity River.
At the park, you find a pond and sculptures of cows.
Furthermore, the park contains walking trails that are great for walking around.
What's great is that you can see the skyline of the city when you are walking here. This is an incredible view that you cannot miss when you are 7 days in Dallas!
Go to Dallas Contemporary
If you like contemporary art, you definitely should go to Dallas Contemporary.
At the museum, you won't find a permanent collection. That's because the museum only features changing exhibitions.
This means that what's on display here always changes! This makes the museum very interesting.
You find here both regional and national artworks, as well works from all around the world.

Day 4: Sights and a Show at a Theater

You find here a beautiful park that features a lot of great nature. This makes it perfect for walking around!
Besides that, you find the Chapel of Thanksgiving here. This is a spiritual place that welcomes people from every religion.
This building looks amazing. The design of the chapel is very modern and features a spiraling shape and a lot of stained glass.
Go to the Perot Museum of Nature and Science

This is a museum that is all about natural history and science. It is a must when you are spending 7 days in Dallas!
You find the museum at two places, but the main building is the one in the Victory Park district.
At the museum, you find several exhibits that all focus on a separate type of science or natural history.
For example, there is an exhibit that focuses on gems and minerals, and one that focuses on the universe. Each exhibit is great to see when you go to this museum!
Also, you can see here dinosaur skeletons that look incredible! These are great to see during your one week in Dallas!

Enjoy a Show at the Majestic Theater
To end your fourth day, I recommend going to the Majestic Theater.
This is a theater that you can find in Downtown Dallas.
It is a historic theater, which makes it even better to visit. You find it at Elm Street.
At the Majestic Theater, you can enjoy a lot of different shows throughout the year. These shows can differ a lot. Some feature music, there are plays, and there are talks. This variety makes the theater great to visit.
What's great is that many shows take place at the theater. Because of this, there is a high chance there is a show when you are visiting!
Day 5: Interesting Sight and Shopping During 7 Days in Dallas
If you like shopping, this is a great day for you! You'll start the day with an educational sight, and you then go to a place with shops.
Explore the George W. Bush Presidential Center
On this fifth day of your week in Dallas, I recommend starting at the George W. Bush Presidential Center.
Here you find the presidential library and museum of George W. Bush.

Go Shopping and Dinner at The Shops at Park Lane
In the afternoon it's time to go shopping! If you like shopping, you'll like where you are going next for sure!
The Shops at Park Lane is a large shopping center that you find to the north of Downtown Dallas. This is a great place to visit when you are 7 days in Dallas.
You find here a large number of shops, which makes it possible to spend a full afternoon shopping. There is a mix of both small shops and large retail brands.
Also, there are other venues at this place that are wonderful to visit! For example, there is a pilates studio and there is a fitness club.

Day 6: A Botanic Garden, Art, Theater
This sixth day is all about seeing nature in the morning. And it is about exploring the entertainment of the city during the rest of the day!
Visit The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden
It is the sixth day of your 7 days in Dallas.
Let's start with a place with beautiful nature.
For this, I recommend going to the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden. This is a very beautiful botical garden.
The nature that you can find at this place is great for walking around.
There are many different gardens here that are all wonderful.
At other botanical gardens in the US, you find gardens that each focus on a certain type of flower or plant.
That's not the case here. Each garden consists of a mix of different flowers and plants. And there is no one type that is dominant in these individual gardens.
This is something that I like a lot, as you get a surprise at each garden you visit!
Discover the Bishop Arts District
Now, let's go to the Bishop Arts District.
This is an area in the city of Dallas that is great to visit!
You find here great nightlife, boutique stores, and a lot of street art. It is a very hip area in Dallas!
Strolling around here is great to do!
Also, you can go here for dinner. That's because there are many restaurants in this part of Dallas! And these restaurants serve a variety of cuisines from all around the world, which is great!
Go to One or More Theaters
After exploring the Bishop Arts District, you should go to one or more of the theaters in this area!
The Texas Theatre is a movie theater with many independent and horror movies that are lovely to see!
Another theater you find here is The Kessler Theater. You find many concerts at this place, which is great for a night out in Dallas as well!
When you are 7 days in Dallas, you should definitely go to one of these theaters!
Day 7: Ending Your One Week in Dallas With a Day With Many Activities
On this day, you'll see nature, go to an interesting museum, and end with seeing a game or a show!
Walk Through the Texas Discovery Gardens
You'll spend your last day for the largest part at Fair Park.
This is a complex with a lot of sights in the city of Dallas.
You find here beautiful nature, which is great for strolling around.
One of the best sights at Fair Park is the Texas Discovery Gardens.
You find here a lot of beautiful nature that is amazing to see!
Also, there is a Butterfly House at the Texas Discovery Gardens. Here, you can see all sorts of butterflies, which is great!
See the African American Museum of Dallas
Another one of the things you can see at Fair Park is the African American Museum. This is another sight you have to see when you are in Dallas.
The African American Museum is a museum that is all about American art by African American artists.
