By Dymphe / January 30, 2021

Looking for free things to do in Charlotte, United States when you are visiting? Then this is the article for you, as I show you things you should definitely not miss!

Table of Contents

  • 1. Listen to free music
  • 2. Go to the botanical gardens
  • 3. Stroll through the park
  • 4. See art for free
  • 5. Participate in an art crawl

1. Listen to free music

There are a few places in Charlotte where you can listen to music completely for free. One of the best is during Bechtler By Night, which is held every third Friday of the month in the evening. During this event The Bechtler, a modern art museum, opens its doors and allows you to visit the museum for free while enjoying great musical performances (and other live entertainment and activities). It is a great thing to do in the city while you are on a budget! Here you find more information regarding the event.

2. Go to the botanical gardens

Go to the UNC Charlotte Botanical Gardens for a large variety of beautiful plants. You can find here plants from all around the world, but also from the region. Also, it is a great place for everyone, whether you just want to walk through the gardens or want to learn more about the plants themselves. Furthermore, admission is always completely free! 3. Stroll through the park

The Romare Bearden Park is a great park in Charlotte where you can go for a relaxing walk, a sporty run, or just to sit down (or do anything else you would like to to do in a park). Also, here you can find several interesting monuments.

4. See art for free

The Sonia and Isaac Luski Gallery is a great place to see beautiful art. The collection mainly consists of contemporary glass sculptures, both from up-and-coming artists and well-known ones. Furthermore, you can visit the museum without an admission fee. So, this is truly a great thing to add to your list of free things in Charlotte that you should visit while you are in the city.
