1. Visit a park

Al-Azhar Park is a beautiful park in Cairo. The greenness of the park provides a beautiful contrast with the rest of Cairo. It is a very popular park with over 2 million annual visitors, and you can go there to relax!

2. Go to a local bazaar

When you are in Cairo, you really should go to a bazaar! More specifically, you should go to Khan el-Khalili. It is one of the main attractions for tourists and locals. You can find many traditional crafts and souvenirs here. It is a truly authentic and traditional place that was established in the 14th century.

3. Free music at the Cairo Opera House

Sometimes you can listen to music at The Cairo Opera House for free. The music concerts there are amazing! For more information about when you can visit a free music concert, check out this website!

4. Visit the Mosque of Ibn Tulun

The Mosque of Ibn Tulun is the oldest Mosque in Egypt and the whole of Africa. It was completed in 879. It is a popular tourist attraction. I'd recommend visiting this mosque and admire the beautiful architecture!

5. Visit a cave church

The Monastery of Saint Simon the Tanner is a church made in a cave. It's a great place to visit while in Cairo. It is actually one of the seven cave churches in the area, but it is the largest with a seating capacity of 20,000. Furthermore, the Monastery of Saint Simon the Tanner is the largest church in the Middle East. It is just such a very special place unlike you have ever seen before. You should definitely go there while in Cairo!
