6 Reasons Why You Should Travel To Menton in Winter

There are many reasons why you should travel to Menton in winter! Menton is a very cute town in France and it's perfect for a winter getaway.

1. It’s the perfect place to escape winter

If you're looking for a place to escape winter, Menton is the place you're looking for!

The average temperature in winter is 54°F (12°C) in Menton. The photo below was in January and it wasn't cold at all! The sun was shining and I loved wearing my crop top and skirt.

Besides the temperature, Menton will totally give you that summer feeling you're looking for during winter. The beautiful blue water and colorful houses will give you the summer feeling.

Furthermore, you can go to one of the restaurants along the beach and have something to drink. What more do you need to escape winter? Menton is perfect for this!

2. Menton is less busy in winter

Most people travel to Menton in the summer. Because of that, it is less busy in winter! This makes the experience of visiting the town very unique.

In the photo below, you can see how empty the beach is. Furthermore, the rocks are also very empty in winter.

Thus, you can relax in Menton in winter, as it's very quiet.

3. Monaco, Nice and Villefranche-sur-Mer are close to Menton

Menton is in the Côte d'Azur. So you can visit other beautiful towns too when you're staying in Menton! My favourite places near Menton are Monaco, Nice and Villefranche-sur-Mer.

Monaco is one of the wealthiest places in the world. There are some wonderful viewpoints. Furthermore, in Monaco, you can spot many luxurious yachts.

Monaco is very impressive to see and you can eat delicious ice creams there. There are also many great photo spots in Monaco.

Nice is the city you'll probably arrive first before you get to Menton. This is a larger city and if you are in the mood for shopping, it's perfect! It's very fun to spend one day in Nice.

Villefranche-sur-Mer is a small town with some amazing viewpoints. The beautiful viewpoints are near the train station, which is perfect. Especially sunsets in Villefranche-sur-Mer are magnificent.

You can get to these places by train from Menton. Train tickets are very affordable there and the trains are very comfortable. You can buy your tickets for the trains in Italy at Trenitalia.

4. You can practice your French language skills in case you’re going to France in the summer

Since Menton is in France, the locals speak French! This means that if you're planning to visit France in the summer, it's the perfect moment to practice your French language skills.

I'd highly recommend visiting France in summer too because there are so many beautiful places in France. For example, Paris is amazing.

5. It’s way more affordable

One very important reason why you should travel to Menton in winter is that it is more affordable. In summer, traveling to the French Riviera can be very expensive.

In winter, the accommodations are cheaper. Besides that, getting to Menton is also more affordable in winter.

6. Menton is so beautiful

The last reason is that Menton is so beautiful!

The moment when I saw Menton for the first time was amazing. I traveled to Menton from Nice by train and I arrived during sunrise. It was so beautiful!

Especially in the morning, it is very quiet in Menton. The sunrise, water, and houses are very dreamy then.
