1. See some art for free

For free art, you should go to the Castleberry Hill Art Stroll that is there every second Friday of the month.

2. Go to the Centennial Olympic Park

A great public park in Atlanta is the Centennial Olympic Park.

It was built for the Summer Olympics of 1996.

Here you can go for a relaxing stroll, to picnic, or to do some of the other activities in the park.

Also, many events are here throughout the year. In short, there is always something to do here!

3. See some contemporary art

Looking for contemporary art while you are in Atlanta? Then go to Atlanta Contemporary. This is an amazing museum in the city to visit.

You find here several temporary exhibitions throughout the year, so you will always find something new here!

4. Enjoy a free jazz festival

One of the largest free jazz festivals in the United States is in Atlanta.

The Atlanta Jazz Festival is an annual jazz festival where you can find famous jazz artists, but also many new talents. Really one of the best free things to do in Atlanta if you love music!

5. Georgia Capitol Museum

Want to learn about the history of Georgia? At the Georgia Capitol Museum, you find a collection of natural and cultural history.

Items you can find here include animals, fossils, portraits, statues, and much more.

6. Piedmont park

Another great park in Atlanta is Piedmont Park.

Here you can go walking, biking, and skating. And you can do many other things you can do in a park.

Also, there are many facilities for sport, such as a tennis court, softball fields, soccer fields, and volleyball fields.

Furthermore, the park is home to many events, such as the Atlanta Jazz Festival outlined above.

7. Martin Luther King Jr. National Historical Park

At the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historical Park, you find several buildings that are related to Martin Luther King Jr., such as his childhood home and the church where he was baptized and was pastor.

You also find here a museum dedicated to the American Civil Rights Movement.

So if you want to learn about Martin Luther King Jr., then you should definitely visit this place.

8. Atlanta BeltLine

Go to the Atlanta BeltLine for a former railway that has been transformed into walking and biking paths.

But that's not all you can find here, there are many restaurants, shopping areas, museums, and other things to do!
