It is a small park right in the middle of Zürich. At this location, there used to be palaces of the Holy Roman Empire around which the capital of Switzerland has grown.
After the closure and demolition of these palaces, the location was transformed into a public park where locals went to recreate.
However, several important historical traditions and events were still held here, making this place one of the most important parts of Switzerland. Also, it is one of the most photogenic places in Zürich.
2. Bike for free
In Zürich, you can rent a bike for free because of the initiative "Züri Rollt".
You are only required to have a valid ID and to deposit 20CHF.
There are three locations in the city where you get a bike (only the one at the main station is open during the winter period).
3. Go for a swim
The natural water in Zürich is so clear, it is amazing to swim in.
There are some beaches at Lake Zürich where you can swim.
Another way to go for a swim is in one of Zürich's river pools, which are literally pools in the river.
