Rome is a perfect city to travel to if you want to take pictures. That's because there are many gorgeous spots to discover. Furthermore, the history of the capital of Italy is amazing, making it interesting to capture.

1. Colosseum from a high platform

The Colosseum is one of the best Instagram photo spots in Rome for several reasons.

First, it's a very famous sight in Rome. The history of the Colosseum is very impressive.

The construction of the Colosseum began in 72 AD and the building was ready in 80 AD. Very interesting to know is that the construction started under Vespasian. That was the emperor back then. When it was ready, the Roman emperor was Titus.

The Colosseum is an amphitheater and many events happened there in the past. Nowadays, it's the largest amphitheater in the world, making it even more impressive.

This is one of the reasons why it's a great place to take photos. It's definitely amazing to capture a building with such a rich history.

Besides that, the Colosseum also looks incredible. It's an oval building, which is very photogenic. The color of the building looks incredible in photos as well.

2. Trevi Fountain

The Trevi Fountain belongs to the best Instagram photo spots in Rome as well. It is a very photogenic fountain and you can make many kinds of pictures here!

One of the reasons why the Trevi Fountain is great for photos is because of the colors. The blue color of the water is very unique and it will make your pictures look incredible!

Besides that, I love the color of the other parts of the fountain as well. And the orange building next to it looks great too.

Furthermore, the Trevi Fountain is a very impressive sight. The construction took many years and the fountain was ready in 1762. There are also many movies where you can see the fountain. This is another reason why you should definitely take photos here.

If you're going to capture the fountain, keep in mind that it is very large. It's 86 ft (26.3 meters) high. It's actually the largest Baroque fountain in Rome.

Furthermore, if you're here, don't forget to throw a coin over your shoulder! According to myths, this will give you luck!

Also, the Trevi Fountain is amazing at night! Then, it will light up and it looks even more magical than during the day. Seeing this is also one of the best things to do in Rome at night.

3. The Forum Romanum

The Forum Romanum is another place where you should go if you want to take pictures in Rome.

It is the old center of Rome and there are many ancient buildings. For example, there are temples, there's a library and there's an old market.

The Roman emperor also lived here in the past.

It's amazing to take photos at the Forum Romanum. That's because it's very photogenic, but at the same time, you can learn a lot about history here!

Furthermore, the Forum Romanum is very close to the Colosseum. So you can combine these photo spots, which is convenient.

Keep in mind that you need tickets to enter the Forum Romanum!

One of the reasons why Vatican City is very famous is that the pope lives there! People from all around the world travel there to see him speak.

St. Peter's Cathedral is the cathedral in Vatican City. So if you're there, you should definitely visit the cathedral as well!

The amazing looks of the cathedral will surprise you for sure. It looks great from the outside, but it looks even better from the inside!

This is definitely my favorite photo location in Vatican City. All details of it are very pretty.

Besides taking photos of the cathedral, it's also amazing to be there for a while. The cathedral is very large from the inside and seeing all decorations is very nice.

6. In front of the Colosseum

As I mentioned before, the Colosseum is one of the nicest Instagram photo spots in Rome. It's convenient to take pictures on the high platform. But you can also take photos in front of it!

Even though it's the same building as photo spots one, your photos will look very different. If you take pictures here, you can better see how large the Colosseum is. That's one of my favorite things about this location.

7. Inside the Colosseum

If you're in Rome, you should definitely go inside the Colosseum as well! Besides being a great place to learn about history, it belongs to the best Instagram photo spots in Rome.

The Colosseum looks magnificent from the inside. The colors are amazing and the remains are impressive. It's also beautiful that you can capture the blue sky when you're in the Colosseum as well.

If you're going inside the Colosseum, you need tickets. You can buy tickets and visit the Colosseum yourself, but you can also go with a guide. The advantage of visiting with a guide is that you get lots of interesting information!

8. Chiesa Nuova

If you like capturing ancient buildings, you'll also love the Chiesa Nuova!

Chiesa Nuova is a church in Rome. It's definitely worth taking some photos of this church too!

It looks magnificent from the outside. The building has many details, which I love.

Also, this church is in the center of Rome. So it's very easy to get there. Thus, I'd definitely recommend seeing it when you're in Rome!

9. The Borgia Stairs

The Borgia Stairs are very photogenic too! You can take some great pictures here while standing or sitting on the stairs.

Besides taking photos here, it's also a lovely place to relax for a while. You can sit down on the stairs and have something to drink! It's the perfect place to be on a summer day in Rome.

10. Villa Borghese

Villa Borghese is a public park in Rome. If you like nature, then you should definitely go here. There are so many cute spots here!

Also, you find here the Galleria Borghese. This is an art gallery with great art. These include paintings and sculptures. It's definitely great to see that as well if you're in the park!

11. San Carlo al Corso

San Carlo al Corso is another photogenic place in Rome. This is another church that you should definitely see when you're in Rome.

You can find it on the Via del Corso. The city started building the church in 1610. The architecture of it is very beautiful.

It looks very beautiful from the outside. But it's also pretty from the inside!

The interior of the church is beautiful. There are many golden decorations. Furthermore, there are lots of paintings, that are very colorful.
