9 Best Instagram Photo Spots in Egypt

By Dymphe / June 1, 2022

In this article, you'll find the 9 best Instagram photo spots in Egypt. Egypt has many photogenic ancient places to take photos!

I also included the cities in which the spots are located, so that you can more easily plan your trip!

Table of Contents

  • 1. The Great Pyramid of Giza, Greater Cairo
  • 2. Abu Simbel, Aswan
  • 3. Karnak Temple Complex, Luxor
  • 4. Hatshepsut Temple, Luxor
  • 5. Valley of the Kings, Luxor
  • 6. Philae Temple, Aswan
  • 7. Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at Nile Plaza, Cairo
  • 8. Mosque of Muhammad Ali, Cairo
  • 9. Temple of Edfu, Edfu

1. The Great Pyramid of Giza, Greater Cairo

This is definitely one of my favorite spots in Egypt because it's a very wonderful place. The Great Pyramid of Giza is the tallest in Egypt.

Furthermore, it's one of the tallest in the whole world! Till 1311 AD, it even was the largest building in the whole world. This makes the place very impressive.

Besides that, the Great Pyramid of Giza belongs to the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

2. Abu Simbel, Aswan

The Abu Simbel temples are enormous temples.

They are located in Abu Simbel, which is a village in Aswan Governorate. The temples are very impressive and perfect for photos.

4. Hatshepsut Temple, Luxor

This temple was made for the pharaoh Hatshepsut who lived about 3500 years ago.

The temple is seen as one of the best ancient monuments of old Egypt.

It is one of the best Instagram photo spots in Egypt in my opinion because the colors are so beautiful and the architecture is really great.

5. Valley of the Kings, Luxor

Valley of the Kings is near Hatshepsut Temple, so I would recommend visiting both if you're in this area.

During a period of about 500 years, several tombs were created for pharaohs and other important people that lived in the 16th to the 11th century BC.

Valley of the Kings looks magnificent!

6. Philae Temple, Aswan

The Philae Temple is a temple that was first constructed on Philae Island, but that has been recently transferred to Agilkia Island to save it from a flood.

Again, the architecture of this temple complex is really amazing, and therefore I would highly recommend taking photos here.

7. Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at Nile Plaza, Cairo

If you're looking for a very Instagrammable place to stay, you should check out the Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at Nile Plaza. This is an amazing hotel in the city.

The view of the hotel is just amazing, and you can make magnificent photos there.

8. Mosque of Muhammad Ali, Cairo

The Great Mosque of Muhammed Ali was built at the start of the 19th century.

Its architectural style is that of the Ottomans.

Especially when the courtyard is empty, you can make gorgeous Instagram photos here.

9. Temple of Edfu, Edfu

The inscriptions on the walls of this temple have given a lot of information about the myths, religion, and other parts of Egyptian culture during the Hellenistic period.

I think this is one of the most impressive places in Egypt, and it also is very photogenic.
